Episode Twenty One | Teaser

AND WE'RE BACK. After a hiatus much longer than we anticipated, we've brought back Feminism and Funeral Potatoes. We introduce our new book, The Bishop's Wife, and recap General Conference. Put those headphones in and take a listen--we've returned in all our glory and are excited to have our listeners chillin' with us once again.

  1. I think um, I think this is the wrong recording maybe? It could just be my computer.

  2. General Conference was somewhat of a struggle for me. I reaffirm all that you said, and I'll tell you the exact moment when I had the most...conflicting thoughts. When Elder Stevenson stood up and gave his story about how he was called, it made my heart hurt. When he was called in to be offered the apostleship, his wife was not there. He goes on to say how he accepted (without talking to his wife at all) and told her the story about how he accepted later. He accepted a lifelong call that would drastically affect each of their lives, and the lives of their family....all without having said a word to her beforehand. He just informed her of his decision later. As a side note, when my mom was called as Relief Society president, my dad was present. You see the conflict presented. "Yes women, you're important and you matter!" Just not when making decisions that will affect both of our lives forever? Cool.
